JOB TITLE: Math Interventionist

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

CERTIFICATION

REQUIREMENTS: Current and Valid Illinois Professional Educator License.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 Day - Full Time

START DATE: August 18, 2025

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

Current and valid Illinois Kindergarten through Fifth Grade Elementary Education Endorsement or LBS1 Endorsement.

Teaching experience in the area of Mathematics.

Knowledge of math instructional strategies and development of conceptual understanding.

Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Thorough understanding of the developmental progression of children's math skills.

Thorough understanding of Illinois Learning Standards.

Skill in collecting, interpreting, and communicating data to a variety of audiences.

Possess excellent organizational skills.

Demonstrate knowledge in support and intervention strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.

Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Spanish preferred (not required).

Able to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Math Interventionist will provide Tier 3 targeted instruction. The Interventionist will create instructional plans to assist identified students reach grade-level mastery of Illinois Learning Standards.

Follow all policies and procedures of District 15 along with state and federal regulations pertaining to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and IDEA.

Provide data-driven direct instruction to students identified for intervention.

Ensure consistent implementation of language strategies to develop oracy and vocabulary skills in the area of mathematics.

Provide instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

Use a variety of assessments to measure student learning and drive instruction.

Collaborate with teachers and instructional coaches to identify the academic needs of students to set learning goals and targets, and to problem-solve with teachers to develop best practices for the continuous academic growth of students.

Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Provide a small group environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.

Promote, monitor, and maintain the integrity of interventions and data.

Actively participate in grade level team meetings.

Assist in school and district level professional development (i.e. SDW).

Attend district-level meetings.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.

Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.

Attend team/parent meetings as required in order to provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and areas of growth.

Effectively communicate student progress to parents on a consistent basis.

Participate in universal screening activities and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need of MTSS services.

Perform such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the building Principal. PAY AND BENEFITS
