We are looking for an experienced Senior Survey Technician (Party Chief) to oversee a survey field crew and manage related surveying responsibilities at our location in Spring Branch, Texas.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the daily activities of the assigned survey field crew, ensuring quality and proper survey methodology. This includes training and mentoring junior employees.
Coordinate with contractors to provide necessary survey services.
Identify property line controls and make informed decisions on how to proceed with the survey.
Gather all required information to conduct the survey efficiently and assign tasks to crew members.
Communicate with clients as needed to discuss survey work.
Perform calculations and maintain essential survey records.
Ensure the assigned survey truck is properly maintained.
Maintain and inventory all assigned equipment.
Address and manage performance issues of the survey field crew.
Communicate with management to optimize efforts and man-hours.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Courses in mathematics and surveying are beneficial.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Party Chief in the land development industry.
Working knowledge of field design for both overhead and underground utilities is highly desired.
Knowledge of power line materials is a plus.
Working towards or willingness to obtain RPLS certification.
Experience in conducting easement research at courthouses is highly desired.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices.
Ability to perform all aspects of data collection for topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys, and as-built surveys.
Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS, and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
Ability to work outside in all seasons, as this position requires both indoor and outdoor work.
Ability to travel overnight to various parts of Texas and surrounding states.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
