Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. This role involves completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions while ensuring the efficient movement and management of inventory and equipment.

Responsibilities

Move inventory or equipment and fill customer orders by pulling material from racks.

Unload incoming material, load trucks and customer vehicles, and help maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.

Receive, place, and return items into stock inventory locations.

Pull and assemble orders based on reviewing work or shipping orders or other documentation.

Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.

Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using forklifts, side loaders, or cranes.

Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code.

Conduct spot checks on inventory and complete daily or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material as directed.

Report any irregularities to the supervisor for direction.

Restock material.

Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Essential Skills

Experience with forklift operation and material handling.

Proficiency in inventory management and order picking.

Ability to use RF scanners and perform general labor tasks.

0-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

High School diploma/GED preferred.

Valid Driver's License preferred.

Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting.

Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.

Basic measurement skills including length, width, height, and weight calculations.

Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.

Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.

Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling equipment.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
