Job Description
Our client in North Austin is looking to hire an Assistant Controller for the following functions:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification of revenues and expenses.
Develop and manage financial reports to support leadership in strategic decision-making.
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
Maintain accurate records and processes to ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements.
Support the Controller in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and analyze variances.
Identify and recommend cost-saving strategies and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data and reporting.
Provide support for payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable functions as needed.
Implement and enhance internal controls to safeguard and streamline financial processes.
Maintain accurate records of fixed asset acquisitions, ensuring proper classification, valuation, and compliance with accounting standards.
Track project costs, including labor, material, equipment, and overhead for construction work-in-progress accounts.
Contribute to special financial projects and initiatives, including those related to multiple locations.
This role requires a CPA and is a hybrid opportunity. Knowledge of an ERP system is a requirement.
