Name of position: System Administrator

General Description:

The ideal candidate will have 3 – 7 years’ experience in an IT systems, networking, and/or support role.

The selected candidates will provide technical support for computers and associated networks. Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, related PC software, telephones, cables, etc. Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support.

Requirements:

A four-year Bachelor’s degree, preferably in ISDS, IT, Computer Science, Math, or a related field.

3-7 years’ experience in IT, primarily in support/systems/networking.

Microsoft Windows experience.

Experience in these areas:

Active Directory Management

PC hardware and software troubleshooting

Basic networking

User support

Printer installs

Physical hardware installs

Light database skills a plus

Light scripting skills a plus

Job duties include:

Basic and mid-level IT Support for a variety of software and hardware environments

Answering support phone calls

Physically installing computers

Installing, updating, and monitoring servers

Evaluating new systems to be rolled out to the company

Working closely with a small team of IT professionals

Occasional afterhours work

Infrequent travel is possible

Description of IT at Cajun Industries:

Cajun is a medium sized construction company with a long history in Louisiana. Cajun’s IT team supports approximately 900 users, 2/3 of which are at or near the home office in Baton Rouge. The position is based at the Baton Rouge office. Laptops, smartphones, printers, PCs, iPads, and various types of networks are involved. Various software and custom software is supported.
