POSITION TITLE: IT HELP DESK
LOCATION: Technology Department/Education Center

ADDITIONAL INFO: Eight hours per day
DAYS: Twelve month employment
SALARY SCHEDULE: Rate of pay will be $18.69 per hour
START DATE: As soon as possible.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Technology Coordinator, manages all district helpdesk phone calls and district helpdesk e-mails. This will involve answering phone calls as soon as they come in, checking the helpdesk email multiple times
per day, escalating problems that are outisde of their ability to solve either to an application specialist or to an IT Computer Repair Technician. Enter work orders for all problems encountered and documents solutions. Employees must be
able to safely lift 50 pounds.
HELP DESK: This person will be responsbile for District "helpdesk" services. This will include the design and implementation of methods for trapping, collecting, and categorizing all service calls and solutions. This will also include the building of
research methods for all technology related service questions and solutions for quicker problem resolution in the future. This person will handle all technology repair, network, and software questions as a "front-line" of defense for the
Technology Department. Person will route unanswerable questions to the appropriate higher tier support personnel. Will also be responsible for handling all minor hardware trouble-shooting, minor network questions (including login
issues as well as account creation), and software use questions. After training, they will handle more indepth student database software (infinite Campus) questions. They will enter work orders for all district staff into district technology
work order system.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Assists in installing and setting up new computer equipment, labeling and/or marking for distribution throughout the District. Also includes moving, setting up and tracking of equipment as requested. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS: Requires ability to communicate with supervisor using complex terms of trade or technology. Requires skills in electronics and computer systems, including installation of computer hardware, software, and cabling. Requires ability to work
well with others in an interactive work environment. Basic knowledge of PC imaging and Microsoft Operating System and Microsoft office products.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. One year of technical training in electronics and computer equipment repair or equivalent experience is
desired. Requires a valid Idaho Driver's License.
WORK EXPERIENCE: One year of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence is desired. At the discretion of management, some minimum training and/or work experience requirements can be set. However, as a general rule, experience and
training are interchangeable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
a. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
b. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend, reach and lift.
c. Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
d. Must be able to work in stressful and hectic environment.
e. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
f. Requires the ability to travel.
g. May require the ability to adjust work schedule to complete tasks and/or working overtime.
h. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presense at the job.
