JOB TITLE: Rotational Molding Machine Operator
POSITION REPORTS TO: Production & Maintenance Manager
SCHEDULE: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needs arise. Overtime must be pre-approved by management.
PAY: $18.00
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Rotational Molding Machine Operator sets up, operates, and produces thermoplastic parts and products.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1-3 previous years of experience in rotational machine molding preferred.
Previous manufacturing experience.
Basic to intermediate shop math, blueprint reading.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Organizational and time management skills.
Previous experience using CRM and ERP Systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to retain instructions and work independently.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely.
Ability to work well with others positively and constructively.
Previous experience using warehouse moving equipment or willingness to receive training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Work as a team to meet and/or exceed monthly goals.
Operate and produce plastic parts and products safely and efficiently according to the production schedule provided by the Operations Manager.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Operations Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine works properly.
Excellent team player within a target-driven environment.
Regular and prompt attendance per assigned schedule and effectively communicating when there are deviations from schedule ahead of time.
Regular attendance at company meetings when requested and involvement and interaction in the meetings.
Willing and able to work overtime as required.
A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges; this includes cross-training in other duties as needed.
Must follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
Observe the continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and detect jams or malfunctions. Make adjustments as necessary or inform maintenance of anything out of operator control.
Set up, operate, or tend plastic molding, casting, or core-making machines to mold or cast thermoplastic parts or products.
Turn the valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, speed, and feed rates and set cycle times.
Read specifications, blueprints, and work orders to determine the setups, temperatures, and time settings required to mold, form, or cast plastic materials and plan production sequences.
Always ensure proper maintenance and preparation of molds.
Trim, deburr, and prep parts when needed.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Routinely required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach.
Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
Lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and utilizing moving equipment for heavier loads.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision.
Noise level for this work environment is moderate.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This role is typically on the shop floor, standing in front of machines and operating them. In this role, you will work in team groups and independently.
