Job Description
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Automation Technician to join our manufacturing team in Albany, Oregon. In this role, you’ll install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated equipment and control systems to support continuous operations. This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong electrical and programming skills, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLCs. An active Oregon LME (Limited Maintenance Electrician) license is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation equipment
Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
Perform regular maintenance on VFDs, sensors, and control panels
Use ladder logic and function block programming to optimize system performance
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and changes to control logic
Ensure compliance with all OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards
Required Qualifications:
Valid Oregon LME License
2+ years of experience in automation or electrical maintenance
Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or MicroLogix)
Proven ability to program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and industrial communication protocols
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking
Background in manufacturing, food production, or heavy industrial environments
Knowledge of NEC codes and Lockout/Tagout procedures
Technical degree or certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field
