Our engineering team works hands-on to design, build, and automate unique process systems for clients around the world.

We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the design and automation of pilot-scale systems. This is a full-time, on-site position at our facility in Golden, Colorado.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement automation and control systems for pilot plants

Develop and maintain PLC code using CoDeSys (IEC 61131-3)

Specify and integrate industrial instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.)

Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and create associated I/O lists and control logic

Configure IoT devices for data acquisition, remote monitoring, and integration with control systems

Assist in control panel design and field wiring layout

Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of systems

Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers on cross-functional project teams

Qualifications:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field

3+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering

Proficiency in PLC programming using CoDeSys

Experience with IoT hardware and industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, etc.)

Ability to develop P&IDs and interpret process control systems

Hands-on experience with instrumentation setup, wiring, and calibration

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pilot plant operations or custom process systems

Familiarity with SCADA or HMI development

Knowledge of hazardous area classification or intrinsic safety principle
