Salary: Variable Based Upon Experience

This role will be responsible for developing new formulations for personal and animal care products, supporting current customer projects, and exploring new business opportunities. This role requires collaboration with customers to tailor product solutions, continuous improvement of existing formulations, and identifying new raw materials and technologies to enhance our product offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize formulations for personal and animal care products in alignment with customer needs and company standards.

Collaborate closely with sales and customer service teams to support existing customers' expansion and growth.

Work proactively with new customer opportunities, providing technical expertise and formulation solutions to meet their requirements.

Conduct product testing, stability studies, and performance evaluations to ensure quality and efficacy.

Stay current with industry trends, raw material innovations, and regulatory requirements related to personal and animal care products.

Document all research, development processes, and formulations accurately and maintain detailed records.

Support scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot and production scale.

Communicate developments effectively to internal teams and customers.

Ensure all formulations comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in quality assurance or manufacturing preferred.

2 or more years of experience in R&D or other quality/lab experience within the chemical manufacturing industry or a similar regulatory environment.

Proven experience in formulation development, preferably within personal and/or animal care industries.

Strong knowledge of raw materials, formulation techniques, and testing methods.

Excellent problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., EPA, FDA, CFA, etc.) related to personal and animal care products is a plus.

Essential Skills and Experience

Strong knowledge of batch record review processes, GMP compliance, and SOP management.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.

Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness on a consistent basis.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office products - Excel, Word, Outlook and Access. Experience with Global Shop is preferred but not required.

Candidates will be considered for R&D Chemist or Senior R&D Chemist role based upon prior experience and qualifications.
