We are seeking a Building Project Engineer for our Reedsburg, WI office to assist in design and construction of commercial, recreational, municipal and residential buildings. This position focuses on completing commercial building code (IBC, including Wisconsin SPS 360-366) compliant design and construction, as well as considering the efficiency, safety, and performance of building systems within the design and construction processes. Requirements:
Assist in the design and analysis of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) for commercial buildings
Assist in the design of building site improvements, including but not limited to, site grading, site access, ADA accessibility, building utilities extensions, etc.
Perform calculations to estimate the price and schedule of building projects
Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and documentation for project deliverables; assist in the preparation of bidding documents as required for public projects
Work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes and regulations
Assist with building permit applications and other associated permits
Participate in site visits to monitor construction progress, quality control, and system installation
Collaborate with architects, contractors, review agencies, and other engineers to provide compliant designs and drawings, and assist in providing technical solutions to resolve design or construction issues
Help with the coordination of building systems commissioning and handover processes
Assist in maintaining and improving the firm’s design standards, procedures, and processes
Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to building systems and commercial construction
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering is required
Previous intern or co-op experience in the civil industry is preferred
1-2 years of civil engineering or architectural engineering experience is preferred
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
