The Role

As a MathTeacher, you will serve as the primary learning resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), helping them master academic content and stay on track to graduate. Youll guide students through a competency-based blended curriculum while providing individualized instruction and support. Through a combination of facilitation, mentorship, and academic coaching, you will empower students to achieve academic milestones and post-secondary success.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment

Support new student enrollment by engaging in recruitment and outreach efforts.

Assist in creating Personalized Learning Plans tailored to each students unique needs and goals.

Retention

Serve as an advisor for assigned students, maintaining regular communication and collaboration with support teams.

Monitor students attendance, academic progress, and overall well-being to ensure consistent engagement and success.

Academics

Plan and deliver high-quality instruction in Mathematics, both in 1:1 and group settings, aligned to a competency-based model.

Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate students academic progress and adjust instruction as needed.

Analyze and utilize data to inform instructional strategies and drive student outcomes.

Demonstrate knowledge of IEPs, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), and English Language Learner (ELL) accommodations. Support and document progress toward student goals and participate in required meetings.

Provide targeted remediation and enrichment opportunities to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Contribute to the success of academy initiatives including data reviews, professional development workshops, and school/community events.

Advocacy

Collaborate with student support teams to develop academic, behavioral, and transition plansincorporating incentives that improve student achievement.

Participate actively in academy-wide meetings and represent the academy at community events to advocate for student success.

Perform additional responsibilities as needed in support of the academy's mission.

What Were Looking For

Education: Bachelors degree required, Masters Degree preferred

Certification: Florida Educators License with a 612 Mathematics endorsement required

Experience: 2+ years of relevant teaching experience (preferably high school)

Skills: Strong communication, organization, time management, and collaboration skills

Passion: A genuine commitment to supporting youth who have disengaged from traditional schooling and helping them succeed

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

Experience working in non-traditional or alternative education environments

Understanding of ESE, ELL, and behavior intervention strategies

Familiarity with competency-based education, project-based learning, instructional coaching, and technology integration
