The Restaurant at the Embers Hotel is seeking professional, friendly, and fast-paced Servers to join our Food and Beverage Team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things food and beverage, as well as excellent customer service skills- ensuring that every guest enjoys their dining experience.
Tucked in the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, The Embers Hotel offers 36 guest rooms and suites with full-service restaurant and al fresco dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels, this boutique location embodies a fireside retreat with 4-star service in an approachable, natural setting.
Full-time and part-time positions available with daytime, evening, weekday and weekend shifts. We are open breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.
$8 per hour plus tips
Job Summary:
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Be thoroughly familiar with menu items, promotions offered, hotel offerings, and related materials.
Take customer orders and provide detailed food, wine & spirit menu information Have solid knowledge of spirits & classic cocktails.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service for customers
Adhere to all food and alcohol service standards.
Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately. Reconciliation cash, accurately charge credit cards, and make appropriate cash deposits at end of shift. Complete all transactions using the Point of Sale system.
Complete designated side work efficiently and thoroughly. Clean and maintain all working areas and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work place.

High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Must feel comfortable with the use of technology such as integrated point of sale system - Aloha, and Open Table reservations system.
1 year serving experience in a high volume full service restaurant
Prior Wine/Liquor knowledge not required, but a plus.
Ability to work in a constructive, team working environment with a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude.
Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days.
