Job Summary:

This position is responsible for building, testing, and repairing electrical equipment. Electrical Technicians must be able to wire units to UL specifications and local or state electrical codes, as well as use a variety of hand tools to repair or replace wiring on equipment. Electrical Technicians are assigned to a specific area in the manufacturing plant but may also work with other departments. Electrical Technicians may perform other tasks as needed. Demonstrates basic skills, such as time management, organization, and communication, to perform tasks under direct supervision. Some knowledge of proper electrical procedures and UL specifications for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical wiring for products. Able to prioritize and meet deadlines and be flexible with a variety of assigned tasks. Open to working as part of a team and with other departments in the manufacturing plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring on equipment

Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring on equipment based on customer specifications and local or state codes

Identify malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or other components and correct defects with test equipment and/or basic hand tools

Work with build documents and basic drawings

Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop

Experience and Education:

High School or GED

1-3 months related experience and/or training

Position Requirements:

Knowledge of UL specifications and local/state electrical codes

Knowledge of circuit breakers and transformers

Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools

Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch

Ability to add and subtract fractions

Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed

Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines

Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work

Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit

Observes and follows safety procedures
