Job Title: Natural Migration Consultant
Location: Austin, TX (Local candidates preferred; Remote OK)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Natural Migration Consultant to lead the migration of a large-scale legacy system from AIX 7.2 to Linux. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Natural application migrations and post-migration performance tuning, along with strong scripting and batch job management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end migration of approximately 43,000 lines of Natural code
Migrate 42 application screens and manage 100GB of data
Perform post-migration performance tuning to ensure system stability and efficiency
Migrate and validate 15 databases and 3,500 files
Customize configurations for optimal performance and compatibility on the Linux platform
Support and optimize batch job processing
Develop and maintain Bash/Shell scripts to support automation and migration tasks
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in Natural migration projects, specifically from AIX 7.2 to Linux
Experience with Adabas/Natural environments
Solid understanding of batch job scheduling and optimization
Proficiency in Bash and Shell scripting
Familiarity with large-scale data handling and migration validation techniques
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independentlyAdditional Information
