What you’ll need to succeed as an Accountant at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

1 year of accounting, treasury accounting, or financial reporting experience

Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources

Experience performing complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major

3+ years of accounting, treasury accounting or financial reporting experience

Public accounting experience on large clients, and/or experience working for a large publicly traded company

Demonstrated ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications.

Oracle experience preferred

Solid ability to understand and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information. Maintain general ledger accounts for all assigned accounts including the determination of journal entry requirements, and preparation and posting of journal entries during the month as well as during month-end close.

Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations for all assigned accounts.

Analyze and investigate transactions related to assigned areas to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Research questions for management; investigate and explain variances to expectations and trends.

Participate in cross-functional work teams and continuously improve XPO’s processes and documentation for assigned areas.

Review, interpret and apply accounting concepts in accordance with GAAP and other authoritative guidance to contracts, transactions, and activities as applicable.
