Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sr. Facilities Project Manager for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the guidance of the Department Head/Director, the Sr. Facilities Project Manager coordinates, develops, designs, and budgets renovation projects throughout the University.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Interfaces with a dynamic team of University technical staff, including project management, maintenance, safety, controls, commissioning, and utilities groups to ensure that projects are implemented properly from conception through final acceptance.
The Sr. Facilities Project Manager runs anywhere from 5-15 projects in various stages of design and construction with minimal supervision from the Director.
Must be highly motivated, organized, and persistent with follow up to keep projects on schedule and under budget.
The Sr. Facilities Project Manager is responsible for millions of dollars in design/construction work per year.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the design and construction process.
A minimum of five years of experience in the industry as a project manager, architect or engineer.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to coordinate and execute multiple simultaneous projects; anticipating project needs and maintaining effective communication with all involved parties throughout the process.
Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be familiar with the design and construction process.
Preferred Qualifications
A degree in Architecture/Engineering or Construction Management and 5 years of experience in Higher Education. Equipment Utilized
Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Project/work order management software. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to physically get around a worksite.
