Holiday Inn of St. Cloud Hotel is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to join their team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Sales is primarily responsible for achieving the hotel’s revenue goals by implementing sales and marketing programs in assigned markets. This position utilizes leadership skills to drive
revenue, maximize profit and ensure quality.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.
Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and strong attention to detail.
Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have demonstrated business communication skills.
Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with clients.
Must have strong interpersonal leadership skills, the ability to delegate tasks, and set goals.
Must have a working knowledge of computers, math skills and the ability to handle monetary transactions.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Two years of experience in the hotel industry, business management or similar discipline required.
Previous hotel sales experience preferred, but not required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
Analyzes market segments and develops sales strategies to capture room night and revenue opportunities.
Prospects, qualifies, penetrates and manages business opportunities in assigned markets.
Collaborates with the General Manager and Director of Revenue Management to create and implement revenue optimization and yield management strategies designed to maximize revenue and meet budget expectations.
Develops methods to utilize marketing, social media and local networks to build revenue. Creates strategic plans around the marketing tools utilized to maximize growth.
Manages sales related budget items to ensure that the department operates effectively and within budgeted cost.
Supplies necessary reports to the General Manager and Sales Development regarding sales productivity within given deadlines.
Creates and utilizes an annual Sales and Marketing Plan that supports the overall budget and revenue goals for the hotel.
Maximizes guest room and/or meeting space revenue through negotiations with clients while staying within established guidelines.
Builds public awareness of the hotel through community involvement.
Utilizes the CRM database system to track and manage information for existing and prospective clients.
Conducts property site tours and outside sales calls as needed to create a trusting relationship with clients.
Ensures that all documentation is complete and correct for existing and prospective clients.
Communicates information regarding new bookings, corporate accounts, and other pertinent sales information to appropriate departments in an efficient and effective manner.
Ensures client satisfaction by following up on booked business in a timely manner to confirm the hotel is meeting the client’s needs. Maintains contact with previous clients to determine future business needs.
Investigates guest comments as necessary and promptly resolves all issues in conjunction with the General Manager.
Seeks information from clients to build stronger relationships and provide them with customized lodging solutions.
Educates, coaches and develops Sales team (if applicable), fellow management team members and line associates regarding sales and revenue driven activities.
Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and guests.
Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
