SUMMARY:
The Transportation-Export Clerk will assist in the daily process of international export and domestic documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process International and Domestic export documentation to facilitate parcel/mail movement via airline, driver dispatch, vendor and cross dock shipments with extensive interaction with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and United States Postal Service (USPS) thus contributing to company efficiencies and compliance with all governmental agencies
Obtain working knowledge on Trans IT and HUB IT
Duties may include reassignment to alternate operational areas as business needs require
Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented or otherwise revised by DHL at its sole discretion
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School or equivalent training and/or least 6 months related experience preferred
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Ability to speak English
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
Prepare detailed records or reports such as receiving reports, operating logs, etc.
The learning time necessary on the job to achieve average proficiency and work at general satisfactory level is from six to nine months. It is variable work of a slightly complex nature
Contacts with other departments, terminals or customers on difficult matters, exercising personal influence where cooperation is essential to maintain and promote good business relations and where the use of tact and diplomacy is important
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequently Walk throughout the warehouse
Occasionally move, load and unload mail/parcels weighing up to 50 pounds
Frequently operate a computer by entering data and preparing reports
This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting
