Job Description
Summary
· Oversee all inspection activities including incoming, in-process and final inspections to ensure final product meets all Company and Customer requirements. Be the coordinator for equipment calibration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Perform inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications.
· Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages and other hand held measuring devices for open set ups.
· Use an Optical Comparator for measurement of parts and characteristics.
· Use video measurement equipment to measure part dimension, based on parts and specification drawings.
· Understand and perform to all current quality standards.
· Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required.
· Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
· Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up, GD&T.
· Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending.
· Have a basic understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
· Train others on inspection techniques and tools.
· Work closely with engineering to determine documentation and job requirements.
· Perform safe operation of machines.
· Accurately completes all required paperwork.
· Keep machines and work area clean and organized at all times.
· General maintenance of machines as needed.
· Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.
· Provide good feedback and promote good communication.
· Promote and live company culture.

Education and/or Experience
· 2 Years College, High School diploma or equivalent
· Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications
· Previous experience in lab and/or manufacturing mechanical product inspection
Language Skills
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
