Directional Bore Crew Manager - Drilling Crew Foreman

Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Directional Bore Crew Manager to oversee and lead a team responsible for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utility construction, leadership experience, and a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Occasional weekends (on call)

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations of the directional drilling crew.

Supervise, train, and evaluate crew members to ensure job performance and compliance with safety standards.

Coordinate with project managers, clients, and inspectors to ensure timely and accurate project completion.

Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and permits related to underground utility installations.

Plan bore paths, ensure proper equipment setup, and oversee drilling, locating, and product placement.

Maintain drilling logs, safety documentation, and job progress reports.

Conduct site inspections and safety audits regularly.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field to minimize downtime and delays.

Ensure equipment is properly maintained and safe for use.

Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 2+ years proven experience as a drill crew foreman

Must have a valid drivers license and reliable means of transportation

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Although not required a CDL A is strongly encouraged

Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints

Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols
