We have a great client that is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Langhorne, PA area

Pay rate range: $27.25 to $33.50

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a healthcare professional who provides basic care and assistance to patients under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs). CNAs typically work in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, and home healthcare settings.

Job Description:

Patient Care:

Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and using the toilet.

Help patients with mobility, including transferring from beds to chairs or assisting with walking.

Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate.

Assist patients with basic hygiene and cleanliness to prevent infection and promote comfort.

Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.

Help patients with repositioning in bed to prevent bedsores.

Communication and Documentation:

Communicate patient needs and changes in condition to nurses and doctors.

Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care, including daily activities and observations.

Report any patient complaints or concerns to healthcare team members.

Assisting with Medical Tasks:

Assist with basic medical procedures, such as taking blood pressure, measuring blood sugar levels, or applying dressings.

Assist with feeding or administering medications under the supervision of a nurse.

Housekeeping and Support:

Clean and organize patient rooms and common areas.

Ensure the safety of the patients by following infection control procedures.

Help in restocking medical supplies and ensuring proper sanitation of equipment.

Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a state-approved CNA training program, which typically includes both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical practice.

Certification:

Must be certified by the state's nursing board after passing a competency exam.

Certification requirements vary by state, but most require passing a written and practical exam.

Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills, as CNAs interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful or emergency situations.

Good physical stamina, as the role involves standing, lifting, and assisting patients for long periods.

Knowledge of basic medical terminology and hygiene practices.

Attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring patient health and recording data.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, move, or reposition patients (may require lifting up to 50 pounds or more).

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently.

Experience:

No formal work experience is typically required for entry-level CNAs, but experience in a healthcare setting or related field is a plus.

Some employers may prefer prior experience in caregiving or healthcare-related roles.

Additional Qualities:

Compassionate and caring nature.

Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively under supervision and in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

CNAs typically work in hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare settings. The role may require working in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. In some cases, CNAs may need to travel to patients' homes if employed by home care agencies.
