SCC Construction Management Group (SCC) is currently celebrating over 30 years of providing professional and personalized Construction Management services for construction projects throughout Long Island and Westchester. We have served numerous Schools, Municipal organizations, Public Libraries, Fire Districts, Religious, Corporate, and Healthcare Facilities. SCC is dedicated to supplying the most effective management techniques for the planning and construction of a project, from inception to completion, for the purpose of controlling time, cost and quality.
As part of our continuing growth, SCC is looking for experienced, dedicated, on-site Project Managers, for upcoming educational and municipal projects on Long Island. Immediate opportunities range from full-time permanent positions to seasonal employment.
Job description and typical responsibilities:
Provide Full-time, on-site representation for monitoring construction so as to maintain conformity with the Architect’s contract documents.
Conduct weekly construction meetings and generate minutes.
Keep a daily log and transmit same to the Architect and Owner weekly.
Coordinate the time of contractor deliveries to the site to avoid disturbances for owner
Review and comment on all payment requisitions in writing and forward comments to the Architect for their approval.
Keep a copy of all approved shop drawings and approved supplementary drawings on site in addition to the contract documents utilized for bidding.
Oversee and document all required testing.
Maintain communication with the Owner as to status of construction and provide periodic updates and/or reports of construction progress.
Assist the Architect to prepare a punch list at the completion of all the contract work.
Applicant must also have a strong technical understanding of construction and the construction management process
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Must have experience in planning, budgeting and managing projects with multiple trades. Knowledge of Wicks Law projects and the competitive bidding process is required.
Must have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, MS Project or alternate scheduling software). Must be able to read construction documents. Must demonstrate an exceptional level of reliability and degree of effectiveness in written and oral communication skills.
