We are seeking a Hospice Director Of Nursing - RN to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.

Position Summary
Administers skilled nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services.
Responsibilities
Performs the initial evaluation visit and regularly reevaluates the patient’s nursing needs.
Initiates the plan of care and necessary revisions.
As needed, participates in basic patient care, depending on individual patient diagnoses, and type of care given may require additional precautions as noted.
Prepare clinical and progress notes for each patient visit and summarize care conferences of patients in a timely manner as per Agency policy.
Coordinates a variety of services as needed.
Counsels the patient and family/significant others in meeting nursing and related needs.
Participate, train and prepare for In-service programs as assigned.
Process orders and notifies the Physician of patient needs and changes in condition.
Complete certification/recertification orders and discharge summaries.
Refers to Physical Therapists, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and Medical Social Worker.
Supervises and teaches other nursing personnel.
Conducts patient care conferences on the patient’s assigned to care.
Ability to be “on-call” as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduate of a state approved school of practical(vocational) Nursing and currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing. Two (2) years of experience in Nursing preferred. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment. No Felony record or State disqualification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Has the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Has the ability to effectively present information to management, residents, family members, and other employees.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Currently Licensed as a RN in the State of Missouri. No Felony record or State disqualification.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, anything greater than 20pounds requires assistance of others &/or devices as needed for safety. It is recommended that two people move carts, stretchers, wheelchairs, flat beds, etc. up & down inclines when “in use”. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
