Job Summary
We are seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include providing support to service recipients; to carry out the stated objectives of the program; to maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety and programmatic standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
Maintaining positive, professional relationships with individuals, coworkers, supervisors, families, community members, and other outside agency representatives
Intervene and promptly report all incidents
Assist individuals with safety during mealtime
Support the individuals while in the community
Dispense medication
Promote individuals rights
Maintaining individuals health and safety
Qualifications
Previous experience as a DSP, or similar role is preferred (CNA, PCA, teachers or any medical/mental health care experience)
Valid Virginia driver’s license (Should be driving for at least 2 years)
At least a High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to carry out task independently, given verbal or written instructions.
