Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company is expanding and has a new opening for an experienced and skilled Forklift Operator. The prime function of this associate is to provide support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving palletized wood products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating 8,000lb lifts, loading our trucks including common carriers, and completing other warehouse tasks and duties to ensure the job is done on a daily basis. Flexibility with scheduled work days and shift preference is required.

This position requires indoor and outdoor engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to :

• Sort, pick, pack and process all inbound and outbound orders according to schedule,

• Package, tag and consolidate orders in a safe and accurate manner to insure orders arrive at destination in resalable condition,

• Loading and unloading Flatbeds and Dry Vans,

• Prepare orders for the delivery vehicles to be staged as directed by management,

• Accurately restock and consolidate merchandise,

• Repacking shifted, damaged, and/or misaligned pallets,

• Clearing debris and trash at the end of the day,

• Assisting other operators on assigned tasks, as needed, and

• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving items of up to 45 lbs.

• Ability to work in the heat, cold, sun, rain, basically all weather conditions.

• Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels

• Passing forklifts may emit gas and stop traffic in the common areas.

• The warehouse environment may be dusty, noisy, and open to interior temperature changes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Must have prior forklift experience (Minimum 1 year)

• Basic math & reading/comprehension skills

• Previous shipping/receiving experience a plus

• High school diploma/GED required

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures a plus

• Prior forklift certification(s) a plus (We will re-certify upon hiring)

• Reliable – Able to be on time every time at 8AM until the last truck is loaded

• Ethical and Trustworthy

• Coachable

• Problem solving and handy work skills also a HUGE plus

JOB TYPE: FULL TIME

Hourly: $12 to $14 and hour plus Overtime (Paid weekly)

Hours: 8AM to 6PM, Some Saturdays (We finish when the job's done - We pay Overtime weekly)Company Description

Full-time
