Position Overview

We’re looking for a Project Manager - Special Inspector - to join our Field Operations team. In this role, you’ll conduct weekly onsite special inspections across New York City construction sites. You’ll work closely with general contractors, architects/engineers and client to help ensure compliance and improve the safety and experience of building occupants during active construction.

What You’ll Do

Conduct weekly field inspections on NYC construction sites.

Confirm general contractor compliance with DOB regulations, approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable building codes.

Generate accurate field reports via mobile based wed applications.

Collaborate with site personnel and project team to communicate discrepancies with field conditions and maintain positive, professional working relationships.

Coordinate with contractors to ensure scope of work subject to special inspections is properly documented to comply with DOB regulations/company standards and maintain inspection logs.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

3+ years of on-site commercial/residential special inspection experience in New York City.

Must be comfortable working at heights and from suspended scaffold rigs.

ICC/AWS/ACI certifications (Masonry, High-Strength Bolting, Welding)

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), experience with Project management software

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings processes (DOB NOW, BIS).

Preferred:

Prior experience as a Special Inspector, Civil/Mechanical Engineer, or Construction Project Manager.

16HR scaffolding license.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical)

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is based in New York City with a flexible hybrid schedule.

Standard working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Onsite field visits ~65-75% depending on project workload.

Compensation & Benefits

$90,000 - $125,000 annually, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
