Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Estimator to join our team. Time will be split between a commercial business and a construction business.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating and will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects. This role requires collaboration with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project scope and requirements.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost analysis using estimating software and tools.

Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.

Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets and schedules.

Participate in bid meetings and present estimates to clients and stakeholders.

Maintain and update a database of cost information and historical data.

Monitor project costs during construction to identify and address variances.

Stay current with industry trends, construction techniques, and market conditions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

2–3 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in commercial projects.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
