Walker Engineering is seeking an experienced Special Projects Superintendent to take charge of commercial electrical projects across the DFW area. About the Role:
As a Special Projects Superintendent, you’ll be the first-line supervisor responsible for overseeing all field activities and personnel on your assigned job site. You’ll manage everything from labor and materials to scheduling and safety—ensuring each project is delivered with precision, quality, and efficiency.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supervise and support Walker field trades on a variety of special projects
Collaborate with the Project Manager on job estimates, take-offs, and planning
Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment for project readiness
Establish work schedules and manpower charts to meet project deadlines
Lead the installation of feeders, switchgear, lighting, and electrical components
Oversee and adjust work progress based on job pacing and coordination with other trades
Step in to assist or demonstrate work as needed to maintain productivity
Complete and manage daily reports, safety forms, time tickets, and site correspondence
Champion safety on-site—ensuring training, adherence to protocols, and incident management
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum 3 years in a Foreman or Special Projects Superintendent role
Current TDLR Journeyman Electrician License
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and blueprint reading
Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
Willingness to work occasional overtime based on project demand
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
High school diploma or GED preferred
Working Conditions:
Field-based construction environment with interaction across trades and subcontractors
Exposure to various site conditions and weather
Must be able to navigate all areas of active construction sites
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs of tools or materials
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and kneeling
Requires strong visual comprehension for interpreting plans and performing detailed tasks
Must be able to safely operate vehicles and travel between job sites as needed
