Concrete Laborer

Job Description

C & R Concrete and Excavation LLC is seeking a motivated and reliable Labor/Finisher to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to concrete placement and finishing, as well as general labor duties on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience working with concrete, professional, and possess a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

Concrete Finishing: This includes screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and texturing concrete surfaces to achieve desired finishes. Experience with various finishing techniques is a plus.

Concrete Placement: Assisting with the pouring and spreading of concrete, ensuring proper distribution and consolidation.

Site Preparation: Preparing job sites for concrete work, including clearing debris, setting forms, and ensuring proper grading.

General Labor: Performing a variety of manual labor tasks such as digging, shoveling, carrying materials, and operating small equipment.

Formwork: Setting up and dismantling forms for concrete pours.

Cleanup: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tools and equipment.

Safety: Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures on the job site.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in concrete finishing and general labor is preferred, but not always required for entry-level positions. Willingness to learn is essential.

Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Strong work ethic and reliability.

Valid driver's license is required.

Knowledge of basic construction safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating concrete finishing equipment (e.g., power trowels, concrete saws).

OSHA certification.
