The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of a Director, NATO Support for Autonomy, supporting the Program Executive Office for Unmanned and Weapons (PEO U&W).

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $190,000 - $200,000 annually, based upon an individual's level of experience, skillset, and education. The Description:

The Director, NATO Support for Autonomy, will provide expert-level support to the Program Executive Office for Unmanned and Weapons (PEO U&W) in advancing the alignment, integration, and fielding of autonomous systems capabilities within NATO frameworks and multi-national defense initiatives. The position will serve as the senior contractor lead for NATO-focused autonomy coordination, strategy execution, and technical collaboration across U.S. and allied stakeholders.

This individual will act as the primary advisor to the PEO and associated PMAs on matters related to NATO interoperability, standards development, multinational exercises, and coalition integration of semi- and fully autonomous systems. The position requires a combination of technical depth in autonomy and AI systems, operational experience, and knowledge of NATO policy, procedures, and defense acquisition environments.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

Serve as the senior autonomy advisor to PEO U&W leadership for NATO and coalition matters.

Lead coordination and representation efforts at NATO working groups, multinational panels, and bilateral/multilateral technical exchanges.

Provide technical guidance to ensure U.S. Navy autonomous system development and integration plans are aligned with NATO standards, interoperability goals, and coalition warfighting concepts.

Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans to advance NATO acceptance and integration of U.S. autonomy capabilities, including via exercises and demonstrations.

Support drafting, coordination, and review of NATO-related technical documents, CONOPS, STANAGs, and coalition integration plans.

Facilitate and manage cross-PMA collaboration to ensure coherent U.S. representation on NATO autonomy-related activities.

Provide analysis and recommendations on interoperability gaps, coalition data sharing, AI/ML coalition employment approaches, and mission integration opportunities.

Support development of roadmaps and strategic guidance documents for government leadership use in NATO.

Prepare and deliver briefings to senior DoD, Navy, NATO, and partner nation leadership.

Support test and evaluation planning and observation for NATO-relevant demonstrations, wargames, and exercises.

Maintain awareness of emerging NATO autonomy policy, guidance, and operational concepts.

Education & Experience:

Active DoD Top-Secret Clearance (SCI eligible), with ability to obtain NATO Secret or higher clearance if required.

Master of Arts or Science degree in engineering, defense studies, international relations, or related discipline.

At least fifteen (15) years of experience supporting defense programs, with at least 5 years in unmanned systems, autonomy, AI/ML, or advanced weapons development

Deep understanding of NATO organizational structure, processes, and acquisition frameworks (e.g., CNAD, NAFAG, NATO Industrial Advisory Group, STANAG processes).

Proven experience in government or industry roles interfacing with coalition or multinational defense organizations.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder efforts and provide senior-level programmatic and technical advice.

Strong technical understanding of autonomy, human-machine teaming, C2 integration, and mission autonomy challenges in defense environments.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing and delivering senior executive-level briefings.

Desired Skillset/Qualifications:

Experience working directly with U.S. Navy PEOs, PMAs, and autonomy-related programs.

Prior service or experience in NATO billet or international cooperative defense programs.

Familiarity with U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR) and foreign disclosure processes.

Experience with joint and coalition test and evaluation processes.

Travel:

On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. Travel up to 10-25%, including OCONUS/NATO locations.
