Job Title: Senior Unix/Linux Patching and Vulnerability Management Engineer
Location: Singapore
Role Summary:
Responsible for the patching and vulnerability management of a broad range of Unix/Linux systems, including Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX servers, Solaris VMs, and IBM VIO. This role also involves system administration, firmware upgrades, and log monitoring in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage patching and vulnerability remediation for Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX servers, Solaris VMs, and IBM VIO systems.
Administer Unix/Linux systems and ensure high availability and performance.
Perform patch assessments and plan deployment strategies.
Execute BIOS and firmware upgrades as required.
Monitor and maintain system logs for health and performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
8–12 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work in SLA-driven, dynamic environments.
Willingness to work on weekends and provide on-call weekday support as per roster.
Deep expertise in managing RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX server environments.
Familiarity with cluster management software.
Expertise in patch and vulnerability management.
Strong troubleshooting skills in OS and hardware-related issues.
In-depth experience in OS and firmware patching.
Proficiency with patch management tools such as BigFix, SCCM, etc.
Experience automating pre- and post-patching activities.
Basic knowledge of RAID technologies (e.g., RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5).
Basic understanding of clustering (e.g., geo-cluster, multi-node passive/active).
Familiarity with server management tools and practices.
