Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician
Job Description:
Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Deliver sterile supplies and retrieve contaminated supplies.
Manual cleaning of instruments and equipment to remove contamination.
Operation and maintenance of decontamination equipment.
Meticulous examination of instruments and equipment to ensure they are clean.
Monitor and operate sterilization equipment such as an autoclave.
Test and report any issues or problems with sterilizing equipment.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of recent experience
Graduate of accredited, competency-based program in sterile processing technology
BLS
Active state license
Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
