Position Overview

Butler University’s Lacy School of Business invites applications for a full-time lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation to begin in August 2025. This position will play a key role in our experiential business curriculum—particularly in the First-Year Business Experience and Real Business Experience courses—delivering high-impact, hands-on learning to our undergraduates. The typical teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher in a business-related field from an accredited institution by the appointment start date. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in startup ventures or corporate innovation. Expertise in teaching Entrepreneurial Finance is a plus but not required.

We seek candidates who combine excellence in teaching—designing hands-on, student-centered curricula that immerse learners in real-world projects and providing thoughtful mentorship to students from diverse backgrounds—with a genuine commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated by integrating varied perspectives into course content, proactively addressing participation barriers, and continually refining their pedagogy based on feedback. Equally important is a willingness to serve beyond the classroom—participating in curriculum and faculty-development initiatives, contributing to department, school, and university committees and task forces, mentoring student organizations, and engaging in community-outreach efforts—to help foster a collaborative, supportive campus culture where all members can learn and grow together.
