Testing Lab Specialist

3+ month contract

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Testing Lab Specialist for one of our top clients in Warsaw, IN.

Provides skilled technical assistance in a biomechanical testing laboratory.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

Technician s will perform mechanical and functional testing independently under the input from research and testing engineer.

Testing will support design characterization, verification, risk assessment and supplier changes of orthopedic implants and instrumentation.

This includes communication with multiple disciplines, knowledge of mechanical testing apparatus/methodology, and data reporting.

Independently execute mechanical testing to assess functional requirements of implants and instruments.

Perform mechanical testing such as fatigue, endurance, static testing, tensile testing, corrosion testing, and load to failure.

Prepares test specimens and performs laboratory experiments per provided protocols Instron, MTS.

Analyze data and using statistical analysis.

Writes reports and documents test results and procedures.

Maintains laboratory records.

Ensures adherence to all company safety policies and procedures and other safety precautions within the work area.

Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Clearly and professionally communicate test findings, technical challenges, and proposed resolutions to R T members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

0-2 years of related experience and a high school diploma, or equivalent is required.

Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates Degree preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

Hands-on experience with laboratory experiments per provided protocols Instron, MTS

Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures

Ability to enter data on spread sheet and database applications

Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with diverse team members

Skills required include verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, task management, problem solving, and mechanical aptitude

Familiarity with material manufacturing processes; material mechanical, physical, and chemical testing; and material characterization is preferred

Functional/Tribology Wear /Materials Lab Skills general technician
