Job Title: Project Leader I
Duration: 06 Months of contract position (Possible extension)
Shift: Mon to Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm
Location: Skaneateles, NY 13153 (Hybrid)
Note: We are in the office T/W/Th with the option to work from home on M/F
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing design changes and documentation updates needed to support product maintenance. The role requires leading cross-functional teams in engineering assignments and independently planning, executing, and directing engineering projects on a task-by-task basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and implement design changes and documentation updates to support ongoing product maintenance.
Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Independently plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects.
Utilize SAP for managing part information, product structure, purchase orders, and material tracking.
Coordinate activities related to PCBA spins and other product-level changes (excluding fabrication or board assembly).
Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, especially within highly regulated environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or defense.
Communicate effectively across teams and with stakeholders in a matrix-managed organization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in an engineering or technical role.
Demonstrated leadership experience in projects or as a technical lead.
Strong communication skills and experience working in a matrix management environment.
Ability to exercise independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of various engineering techniques.
Conceptual understanding of Bills of Material (BOM).
Experience with modifying tangible products and materials, rather than software-only or IT/cloud/database changes.
Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAP, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet.
Background in medical device design or development.
Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., medical, pharmaceutical, DOD).
Understanding of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) processes and change management.
