Location : Richmond, VA - Hybrid

Duration : Long term

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and changes on network routers, switches, and wireless equipment, as required

• Performs Implementation/Configuration of new network routers, switches, and wireless devices, as required

• Assists with troubleshooting internetwork connectivity and wireless issues.

• Utilizes change management and ticketing systems, documents status updates and problem resolutions.

• Complete all assignments and project work in a timely manner with an acceptable level of quality

• Follows documented processes, procedures, and policies

• Performs customer service duties and responds to customer and project requests as defined by management

• Other related duties assigned as needed

Required Job Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience administering Routers and Switches

• Must have SolarWinds management experience

• Must have experience with Cisco router and switches.

• Must have networking TCP/IP routing experience

• Must have experience with network break/fix of layer 2 and 3 environments

• Must be motivated and able to work effectively under average supervision in a fast-paced environment

• Must be team-oriented, placing priority on quality and the successful completion of team goals

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Network related industry certifications a plus

• Comprehends current cyber security best practices

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science is a plus, but not required

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Cisco Wireless experience

• Cisco Nexus platform experience

• Cisco SDWAN

• Cisco Catalyst Center

• Experience working in an environment subject to regulatory compliance

• Strong understanding of packet capture analysis

Required Skills :

This is a VERY Cisco heavy environment and we are seeking a senior level network engineer who has great hands on experience configuring and setting up Cisco routers and switches

Skill set:

Great communication is a must have

At least 6+ years of experience as a Network Engineer configuring and installing Cisco routers and switches

At least 6+ years of experience with WAN/LAN environments

At least 2+ years of experience with SD-WAN environments

Needs to come from a large enterprise environment supporting thousands of users

Cisco certifications are highly desired

Long term project Hybrid schedule is one week on site, then one week remote on an alternating schedule.
