Assembly Supervisor – Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of ~40 assembly technicians in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a safe, clean workspace by enforcing safety and housekeeping standards.
Coordinate daily production to meet output, quality, and delivery goals.
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
Hold daily shift meetings to review goals and key updates.
Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
Review and approve production documentation.
Address bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Drive continuous improvement (6S, kaizen, standardized work).
Ensure accurate reporting in ERP/MRP systems.
Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
7+ years in manufacturing/assembly, including 3+ in a supervisory role.
Experience managing teams of 30+ employees.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and ERP/MRP systems.
Familiar with lean manufacturing and ISO9001/AS9100 standards.
Skilled in communication, organization, and problem-solving.
Able to read technical drawings and work instructions.
