Position Summary
The Procurement Director leads the sourcing and procurement function for a diversified chemical group operating four production sites across the United States and Europe. With accountability for more than $600M in annual spend, this role directs procurement strategies across feedstocks, indirect goods and services, logistics, and capital projects. As a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, the Procurement Director plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain performance, aligning procurement with business objectives, and ensuring full compliance with governance and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Direct all procurement activities across feedstocks, raw materials, indirect materials, engineering services, and capital projects.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies that maximize group-wide synergies, cost savings, and operational reliability.
Ensure procurement practices align with internal safety standards, compliance protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Provide leadership and development to a team of 28 across multiple geographies, including direct reports at each operational site.
Align procurement planning with site operations, business management, and technical teams to support production efficiency and innovation.
Represent the organization in cross-group procurement forums, contributing to enterprise-level purchasing initiatives and best practices.
Lead high-value contract negotiations and secure executive approvals in accordance with Delegation of Authority guidelines.
Track and report on procurement performance metrics, supplier evaluations, and budget adherence for senior leadership.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement leadership roles within the chemical, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract execution in a multi-site environment.
Strong working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and procurement data analysis tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills with experience collaborating at senior organizational levels.
