At WaferWire Cloud Technologies, we are a dynamic team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) committed to building resilient, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a seasoned PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and help us elevate our database operations and infrastructure automation.
What You’ll Do:
As a PostgreSQL DBA, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and maintaining our PostgreSQL environments. You’ll work closely with our SRE team to ensure our systems are robust, secure, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments.
Build and deploy containerized database images using Docker (and optionally Kubernetes).
Configure, tune, and maintain PostgreSQL instances for optimal performance and reliability.
Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
Monitor database health and performance, and proactively address issues.
Collaborate with SREs to ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions.
Implement and manage robust backup, recovery, and security protocols.
Support database-related incidents, service requests, and change management processes.
Required Qualifications:
8–10 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.
Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, replication, clustering, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) is a plus.
Certifications in PostgreSQL or cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate).

Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay for this role across the U.S. is: $90,000 - $110,000/Yearly. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
