Akkodis is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer for a client in Palo Alto, California.
Rate Range: $53.00/hour to $57.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Hardware Validation Engineer to join our team and help drive the future of mobility. In this role, you will be responsible for validating hardware systems and components that go into our cutting-edge platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, embedded systems, and software to ensure that all hardware meets functional, safety, and performance requirements.
This role is on-site.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with hardware/software design teams to plan and execute durability, electrical, and functional validation testing for Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
Develop comprehensive test plans, scripts, and fixtures for all product testing phases.
Establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control.
Develop test strategies and cases, and review functional and environmental test plans.
Participate in design assessments, including Bill of Design, CTS, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and CTR.
Familiar with analog, power supply design (buck converter/LDO) and low speed communication circuits (SPI/I2C/UART/CAN)
Provide data analytics from tests conducted.
Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation, templates, and tracking for BoD, BoM, CTS, DFMEA, ADV Toolbox, Drawing Templates, and Lessons Learned.
Investigate and analyze test failures through data analysis and failure reproduction.
Identify and assess potential risks that could impact project timing and customer quality.
Continuously improve the safety, performance, and customer satisfaction of company products.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in automotive or aerospace/defense testing.
3+ years of related experience in electronics product design and development.
Experience with laboratory testing and equipment, including bench-level testing, thermal chambers, vibration tables, electrical testing, and EMC testing.
Ability to work cross-functionally with software, electrical, and design teams.
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements for testing labs.
Proficient knowledge of automotive communication systems, including CAN, CAN-FD.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
LabView, TestStand, and CAPL programming skills (preferred).
Ability to analyze product requirements and determine test strategies.
Working knowledge of requirement management tools, such as JIRA and JAMA.
Excellent collaborative communication and root cause analysis skills.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with cross-functional teams.
Education:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
