As a Senior Cloud Application Engineer (Spring Boot & Databricks), you’ll make an impact by designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-native solutions that power the Bank’s Treasury Analytics Group. This team is central to managing market risk, including interest rate and foreign exchange for retail portfolios, delivering data-driven insights and enabling transparency and profitability through scalable platforms. You'll contribute to multifaceted, high-impact systems that directly support real-time financial strategies. As part of a forward-thinking team that encourages innovation and continuous learning. You will be a valued member of our Internet of Things (IoT) Practice and work collaboratively with our Senior Project Coordinator.

In this role, you will

Design and build robust cloud-native applications using Spring Boot and Gradle, with development in IntelliJ.

Engineer scalable data pipelines within Data Lakehouse architectures, bringing to bear Spark Databricks for data processing.

Automate and manage system operations using Python, Linux shell, or PowerShell scripting.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using Jenkins, GitHub, and Nexus.

Coordinate with product owners, analysts, and architects using Jira and Confluence to deliver high-impact solutions.

Ensure solutions prioritize security, observability, and performance, incorporating standard methodologies in monitoring and system design.

What

you’ll

need to succeed (required

skills)

A proven track record of 5 or more years of backend development with Spring Boot, ideally in enterprise or cloud-native environments.

Expert working with Data Lakehouse and processing frameworks like Spark Databricks.

Proficiency in Python scripting and system automation with Linux or PowerShell.

Outstanding expertise with new DevOps technologies such as Gradle, Nexus, Jenkins, and GitHub.

Collaborative approach in encouraging the use of Confluence and Jira in Agile environments.

What

will help you stand out (preferred

skills)

Outstanding experience with Azure SQL, ASE, or other cloud-based databases.

Detailed knowledge with Azure Functions, Event Hub, or HashiCorp Vault.

Top-tier experience with observability tools like Datadog and scheduling workflows using Autosys.
