Position: Student Equity Intern FLSA Status: Hourly-Nonexempt
Department: Extension/Equity Job Status: Part-time/10 hrs. weekly
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., contingent on the student’s class schedule, some weekend/evening hours with supervision.
Salary: $15.00/hour, 10 Hrs./Week
Reports To: You will be working under the guidance of the Assistant Professor of Diversified Agriculture and Equity & Extension Coordinator.

Purpose of Position:
Little Priest Tribal College offers a unique and dynamic internship opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic student. This position provides hands-on experience in curriculum support, student engagement, and the practical application of soil and plant sciences within our teaching garden. The successful candidate will be able to develop online lab videos for plant and soil science, assist faculty in grading, maintain the teaching garden, and support student learning experiences.
Job Responsibilities:
Help assisting in creating online lab videos to enhance student learning online
Assisting in the maintenance and care of the teaching garden, including planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.
Laboratory classroom set up under the guidance of the instructor
Proofreading curriculum materials and providing feedback for improvement under the guidance of the instructor
Grading student papers and assignments under the guidance of the instructor
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must currently be enrolled in classes at LPTC
Must be seeking a degree in Diversified Ag.
Must be in good academic standing
Have a genuine interest in agriculture, natural resources, or sustainable lifestyles
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Must be reliable and adhere to work schedule
Ability to work as part of a team and independently at multiple locations
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors for extended lengths of time and in all weather conditions
Participate in FERPA, Title IX, and other developmental trainings as directed
Condition of Employment:
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen.
Must be able to pass a drug screening.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under Tribes insurance.
