Position Title: CNC Operator

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for CNC Operator with our client that is in Plainview, NY.

Project Description:

We are seeking a CNC Operator with expertise in running Swiss sliding head stock lathe.

This role requires experience with Fanuc controls, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

Verify components are produced to print (dimensional and visual inspection)

Change tools.

Make offsets.

Load material and remove scrap.

Fill out various paperwork.

Simultaneous operation of multiple machines

Minor troubleshooting/problem solving

Part inspection

Job Qualifications:

Must have Strong experience of CNC machining, GD&T, and Fanuc control

Must have Experience with running Swiss sliding head stock lathe (Citizen, Tornos, Star, Tsugami)

Must have Experience in Medical device manufacturing industry.

2-3 years of experience running Swiss sliding head stock lathe (Citizen, Tornos, Star, Tsugami)

Problem solving skills

Speak and read English

Using variety of measurement instruments

Micrometers

Thread gages

Height gages

Dial indicators

Bore gages

Shadowgraph

VMM + but not required

Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):

2/4 yearsâ experience with lathe/mill turning machines.

Experience using the Fanuc control preferred.

Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints (GD&T symbols).

Working knowledge of various materials & tools (inserts, endmills, drills Etc.)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good communication skills and positive can-do attitude

Must be dependable and possess a willingness to learn new techniques.

Ability to read and write English.
