Job Title: Seagull Book PT Supervisor
Purpose
This position plays a vital role in the store's success by training and motivating team members. The Supervisor leads by example in sales performance and customer service and shares best practices while coaching and training fellow team members to reach their potential. Works closely with the store manager to achieve the store’s goals and can be relied on to keep the store running on a day-to-day basis. The supervisor communicates openly with the manager to improve customer service and store performance. Is committed to DB’s mission and actively engages with who we are, doing their part to achieve our Cultural Beliefs and Key Results. Takes initiative and operates in “See it, Own it, Solve it, Do it.” Coachable via feedback and experience. Is a sales leader with consistent results who embraces the 3 Es of Service Excellence, and proactively shares product knowledge/expertise on repeat (phone capture, email capture/confirm above store average.) Implements VMP and helps set up and run store events.
Essential Job Duties
Supervise, train, and motivate store associates.
Oversee retail store operations such as cashiering, merchandise presentation, shipping/receiving, store recovery, etc.
Assists in setting up and running store events.
In charge of gift card investigations
Troubleshooting register issues – Point of Sale expert
Assist in the completion of reports, schedules, and other documents
Sell Seagull Book Products and services in a retail store environment
Prepare and complete stock inventories with accuracy.
Deliver excellent customer service
Give assignments and follow up to ensure timely completion.
Use the Store Excellence Checklist to assess, coach and celebrate Store Excellence.
Perform store opening and closing assignments
Minimum Job Requirements
Two-Year college education or equivalent
2+ Years of store management experience
Knowledge of Seagull Book Products, policies and procedures preferred.
Proficient in point of sale
Adept in various operational programs (FedEx, retail resources)
Experience with the Acumatica ERP system, and Workday System
Ability to coach and lead store associates.
Self-Motivated with good team skills
Excellent Customer Service
Ability to locate and identify products for customers
Physical Job Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to regularly lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to climb on a ladder
Ability to bend down and raise arms to grab product from floor or back shelves
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain store appearance and organization by regularly stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise shipments, and assisting with merchandise presentation
Ability to assist customers who might ask for physical assistance
Ability to use hands for measuring, typing, writing, grabbing, steaming, folding clothing, pricing and labelling.
