Materials Development Intern

Purpose of the Job:

Assist the lab team with beverage warranty testing

Assist the lab team with other testing as needed

Participate in exploratory R&D

Responsibilities and Duties:

Set up and tear down of e-chem cells

Organize and enter liquids into the testing queue

Bulk properties testing (pH, chloride, dissolved oxygen)

Database entry and maintenance

Other lab testing as appropriate

Electrochemical R&D for beverage screening

Acoustic emission R&D for lubricant screening

Examples:

Partner with perspective leaders to deliver meaningful work that push business initiatives

Collaborate with other summer interns on specific projects

Create and analyze data

Support colleagues in their responsibilities and duties

Participate in client meetings (internal and external) to help develop business plans.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelors’ degree from a 4-year accredited university

3.0 GPA- highly preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong attention to detail

Experience conducting research

Self-starter

Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to follow policies and procedures

The starting hourly base rate for this role is $21.00 and goes up to $24.00 dependent on years of service within the company. The company also offer a Success Share Bonus that is dependent upon meeting metrics and targets. Please note that the range for the rate provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for roles that are based out of Illinois. The final rate will be determined after considering relevant factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and work location, where appropriate.
