Seasonal Parks Laborer

SEASONAL PARKS LABORER CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled PAY RATE: $13.66 - $16.39 (depending on experience) SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday OR Friday - Sunday * Hours range from 6 am to 4:30 pm (Schedule to be determined at interview.) DEPARTMENT: Parks JOB SUMMARY Performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance of: * Park Grounds * Sports Fields * Irrigation Systems * Trails * Open space * Urban Forestry * Maintaining and cleaning restrooms and pavilions * Helping with Events (includes some weekends) RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS * Experience preferred in caring for grounds with a wide range of skills.

* Including, but not limited to, general landscaping and irrigation work.

* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

* Ability to communicate.

* Ability to learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools.

* Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the public.

* Must pass a background and drug test.

* Must be 16 years old or older (Preference will be given to applicants 18 and older with a valid driver's license). Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test.
