Educational Requirements: Must hold appropriate Indiana Administrative Certification K-8
Experience: A minimum of three years of elementary (grades K-6) teaching experience required. Experience as a teacher leader preferred. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Principal in administering and supervising the educational program in the school shall serve in the place of the Principal in the event of the Principal's absence; has direct authority over staff and students as delegated by the Principal.
Demonstrated ability to work with personnel in the instructional program and others as designated by the building Principal; capable of assuming responsibility as the need arises in administering an intermediate school; adaptable to change as needed to improve the instructional program; capable of budgeting time effectively and willing to work as needed to complete assigned duties; ability to tach logical conclusions and make high quality decisions based on available information; ability to recognize when a decision is required and to act quickly; ability to perform under pressure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In coordination with the Principal, will provide leadership to positively impact school personnel to strive for exemplary academic, social emotional, and behavioral standards so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development.
Serve as a member of school leadership teams, and assist with the development of the school improvement plan.
Assist with student attendance and reporting of attendance records and parent notifications.
Assist the Principal with transportation supervision.
Assist with student activities, programs, convocations, attend special school sponsored activities, P.T.O. functions, and special events, as determined by the Principal.
Assist in the coordination of facility rentals and usage, supervision of maintenance of building and grounds.
Assist the Principal in the implementation and supervision, including staffings, case conferences, referrals for evaluation, of the building special education program, RTI/MTSS, English language program and plans, and 504 plans.
Serve as the school level Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) coordinator to lead the school in DEI initiatives for students and staff to align with and create consistency across the district.
Assist the Principal with school safety including working with the district Safety Director on drills, updates, and implementation of safety protocols.
Share with the Principal the responsibility of curriculum development.
Assist the Principal in the development, implementation, and collaboration of the Avon PLC process across the school by all certified staff.
Assist the Principal in ordering supplies, textbooks, equipment and materials necessary for the operation of the school.
Provide support to the Principal in maintaining student discipline.
Assist in supervision of substitute teachers and student teachers.
Assist in staff development.
Assist with the development of the master class schedule.
Work with the building Principal in the evaluation of certified and non-certified staff.
Oversee academic testing and assist with data analysis.
Take an active interest in professional organizations to promote personal professional improvement.
In the absence of the Principal, accept the responsibility necessary in running, leading, and managing the intermediate school.
Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students and staff.
Project a genuine care and concern for all students and staff.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal and the Superintendent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
