Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the NCLEX Success Coach is to achieve high outcomes in academic performance, licensure pass rates, and student satisfaction with course, instructor, the program, and the campus. The NCLEX Success Coach engages students in early identification, intervention, remediation, and other evidenced based coaching strategies for improved NCLEX success. The NCLEX coach assists the student in the utilization of structured resources and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Meets with all students prior to and following graduation until NCLEX examination to conduct gap analysis for the purpose of creating a success plan, monitoring student progress, and documenting coaching activities and progress.

Meets with students frequently to review their plan and progress.

Monitors graduate's performance daily and maintains regular communication with graduates to ensure graduate is following agreed upon success plan.

Follows up on a regular basis with students who are not attending the weekly coaching meetings and reports this to the Dean of Nursing and National Director of NCLEX and Retention for additional follow-up.

Maintains an active and detailed spreadsheet on all students being coached.

Collects and analyzes data on graduate performance and NCLEX pass rates.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Attends meetings as required Work Hours: Forty per week but may vary daily, and some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

Current active unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse.

Baccalaureate Degree in nursing required; Master of Science degree in nursing preferred

A minimum of three years of experience as nursing faculty or similar position and 4 years clinical practice as a registered nurse.

Collaborative work style and team-building skills.

Ability to work with diverse students in a nursing program.

Ability to lead groups; ability to act independently, take initiative and promote innovation.

Ability to deliver timely, accurate and precise information in a multi-task environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent judgment and respect for confidentiality.

Familiarity with technology and its application in an academic advising setting.
