Position Summary: The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for developing new deposit, loan, and merchant business for a specific market of consumers, businesses, and businesses professionals; assisting the Branch Manager and/or Customer Service Manager (CSM) in performing various managerial functions of the department as directed, providing a superior level of customer relations and service; ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures.

The position of Retail Branch Manager is responsible for attaining established individual, department and Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.

May perform supervisory duties of branch staff in the absence of the Branch Manager, Customer Service Manager (CSM) or as assigned.

Reinforces the application of superior customer experiences through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business prospects; participates in community affairs, business and service organizations; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a position sales environment through education of the Bank's products and services; investigates and follows-up on significant changes in status of existing customers; meets with customers to discuss needs and outline appropriate Bank services and to resolve problems as necessary; assists in the organization of the Branch, coordinating available resources (e.g.

staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results; and reviewing marketing strategies in relation to department and Bank goals and recommending suitable marketing approaches Assists in the assurance of audit compliance and procedure quality control for the Branch and recommends and initiates corrective actions to the Branch Manager Contributes to the overall profitability of the Bank; assists in the implementation of cost controls, income generation, and department marketing efforts This position may also have consumer, small business, and/or mortgage lending responsibilities at the direction of management Ensures implementation and compliance to meet security precautions and protect customer deposits, bank assets, and staff Participates in the day to day operations of the Branch as directed; reviews and acts on monthly reports Maintains an advanced knowledge of financial industry trends Responds to inquires or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and exhibits the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved Assists the Branch Manager in implementing cost controls for the department and monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget Plays a position role in the development and growth of the assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to the proper Bank personnel Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations Treats people with respect, keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others, works ethically and with integrity, upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes working environment free of harassment of any type; builds a diverse workforce and supports affirmative action Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations; adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position Completes administrative tasks corrective and on time; supports the Bank's goals and values; benefits the Bank through outside activities The position of Retail Branch manager performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

Able to work well under pressure Proficient computer skills Detail orientated Knowledge of bank regulations Knowledge of the Bank's products and services Tact and diplomacy needed for working with a small staff in a close atmosphere Problem solving skills Flexibility and ability to multi-task Safety and security-the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly Minimum Experience: High School diploma or equivalent Five years of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience as defined below: Work related experience must consist of business development or sales experience in the financial industry with a supervisory background Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, is required to be applicable to the financial industry Immediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank policies and procedures and the Bank's products and services Preferred Experience Experience working with a local community bank.
